Meet the Physician
Devang Doshi, MD
Dr. Doshi was born and raised in Michigan. He completed a combined residency program in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. After completing his residency training, Dr. Doshi was accepted and completed 2 separate fellowship programs (specialty training) at the University of Iowa. Upon completion of his specialty trainings in both the Allergy & Immunology Program and Pediatric Pulmonology Program, he moved back to Michigan and joined the teaching faculty at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.
He is board-certified in Allergy Immunology (adult and pediatric) and also board-certified in Pediatric Pulmonology.
In November 2006, Dr. Doshi became the Director of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology as well as the Director of Pediatric Pulmonology at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. He stepped down from the Pediatric Pulmonary Chief position in 2013, but continues as the Director of the Division of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology. Dr. Doshi maintains a very active role on the faculty and teaching program at Beaumont Children's Hospital, teaching Pediatric and Internal Medicine residents, Pediatric residents, and medical students at Oakland University. He is currently an Associate Professor at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. Dr. Doshi also served on several committees at Beaumont Hospital and has played a vital role in several projects, including the implementation of a childhood asthma treatment protocol at Beaumont Hospital. He continues his passion for teaching in addition to having a busy practice.
Dr. Doshi has won several awards since moving back home to Michigan. Although he states that his “greatest award is seeing the positive impact he can make by helping his patients,” his favorite award was receiving the Best Faculty Teaching Award at William Beaumont Hospital three years in a row. According to Dr. Doshi, “Receiving that type of acknowledgement from our future doctors and colleagues is an incredible honor.”
Along with his ongoing teaching responsibilities, Dr. Doshi continues to participate in numerous clinical research projects. He has served as a research mentor to several residents, and their work has been presented at several national conferences including The American Academy of Pediatrics, The American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, The American Thoracic Society, and The American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. Dr. Doshi has also been an invited speaker for CME programs, speaking on topics such as asthma, vocal cord dysfunction, and delivery of respiratory medications in children.
Dr. Doshi has been interviewed over 100 times on various media outlets, including radio, television, newspaper, and internet sites from 2006-2020. He has been identified as a leading expert in both allergy and pulmonology and is called upon frequently for his opinion by various news sources. Previous local and national interviews include radio (NPR, WJR 760 AM, WWJ 950 AM), television (Good Morning America (ABC), TV 2 (Fox), TV 4 (WDIV), TV 7 (ABC)), print news, (The Detroit News, The Free Press, The Daily Tribune, Eccentric, USA Today), and Internet publications (ABC News.com, Education.com, WebMD, BobVilla.com, Healthy Living, Detroit Metro Parenting).
